Litigation Consultants get a helping hand

An useful article I discovered for Litigation Consultants in August 2008’s copy of OTC was about a seminar given by Elizabeth Waterman from Jacqueline Webb and Company’s, about an introduction to different ways of working outside of the Statutory sector. Useful advice for improving report-writing skills, which are essential to working in the medico-legal field as a care expert, were covered.
Jacqueline Webb and Company essentially gives a facility to solicitors and insurers and provides the evaluation skills of its therapists to assess people who have been injured through no fault of their own and are claiming compensation. The holistic assessment takes into account past and future care needs, transport, equipment and housing needs.
The seminar set out the position of a consultant and talked through in detail what was required of them in different stages of the process from assessment of the claimant to attendance at court as an expert witness.
Attendees were asked to take every chance to hone their report writing skills by seeking out chances to practise and develop a professional written technique, as long descriptive reports have to be both factually right as well as an interesting read. Essential areas of report writing were highlighted as logical presentation, use of language, structuring of the report and a professional approach. An A-Z of report writing, written expressly for the conference, can be downloaded from: Jacqueline Webb and Company Downloads along with other useful information about the consultancy role
