Pros and Cons of Running a Home Business

Over the past couple of decades more and more people have decided to run businesses out of their home. Certainly the internet has contributed to this uptake, but there are other advantages as well - such as minimal overhead and of course the lack of commute.

But there are also downsides to running a home business that require serious consideration.

The immediate downside that I experienced was that it wasn’t always easy to get work done with the family around. Try as I might to maintain a clear distinction between my business and family life, it just isn’t as easy as it sounds.
