To rent or not to rent, that is the question

21 July 2010

The other day I was browsing in a cybercafé when two men came and sat on the computer next to mine. I was immediately annoyed by their loud conversation – one of them was planning a holiday in the Bophut Hotels and was asking his friend which was the best way to explore the surroundings. I was the uninvited listener to their conversation and the travelling gentleman was wondering whether he should use a car hire service or simply go for a taxi. After going through the risks of driving in a foreign land, the man seemed to settle for a taxi service.

Exploring the central north island

16 July 2010

We had been searching for a site that a had a listing for luxury lodge taupo new zealand or something similar so that we could book our accommodation for our trip to NZ. We found a few that looked pretty good but one in particular stood out to us and my girlfriend particularly liked it so we made a reservation there. The town we are heading to is in the middle of the north island and is meant to be a beautiful part of the country and we have heard lots of great things about it so we are very much looking forward to getting there and exploring the area.

Royal Albatros Moderna: Great Food, Great Holiday

15 July 2010

I’ve stayed at the Royal Albatros Moderna hotel in Nabq Bay, Sharm el Sheikh, three times now. The last time I went they had added a lot more dining venues which made it a much better experience, there was so much more choice for dinner. It was fantastic to watch the chefs prepare your meal in L’Asiatique restaurant and we enjoyed Italian cuisine in the Italian restaurant. The only thing I would say is that there is a fair bit of walking distance between the restaurants but I think it’s only a problem if you have very hungry and impatient children! Every time we go back to this hotel something is improved and we always have a wonderful time.

Travel and Design Evolution

12 July 2010

As I shop the marketplace, the more I realize that the world is getting smaller through travel and design.  It has become easier than ever to get to places that were once considered remote, exotic destinations.  This has resulted in a trend in international looks in all types of design.  I’ve seen spaces that are inspired by Morocco, but with a dash of Kenya.  I’ve seen looks on the runway that have been inspired by eastern Europe with details of Southeast Asia.  The accessibility to the multicultural and diverse natural beauty of the planet we live on is driving design.  Creatives have more ammo than ever to their designs through travel.  Travel and design being linked together is more than a trend, it’s evolution.

A long time since the last visit

08 July 2010

Our friends recommended car hire queenstown to us to get a vehicle from when we head down there on our vacation soon because they have always had good experiences in dealing with them and they said they have very nice cars. They also suggested the lodge they stay at and reckon that they can organize a deal for us because they have become friends with the owners over the years, so that would be a bonus. It has been about ten years since we were last down there so it will be interesting to see how much the place has changed and what new things there are in town.

My trip to Europe

05 July 2010

I had a chance to visit Europe last summer. I have to admit that this is the best trip I have ever taken. I took the trip with my friend, Linda. WE visited Spain, Switzerland, France and Italy. We cannot say enough that we love each and every country of these very much. We mix with local people. We taste new foods and drinks. We speak new languages. We make new social connections. In fact, we still keep in touch with our worldwide friends these days through Yahoo! chat and email message. We are very contented with what we have achieved through this trips.

I Am Always Happy To Help A Friend

30 June 2010

After about a few hours I thought back on the conversation I had with a woman who came in the cafe today. She was talking about her aircraft charter and how she loves to fly it when ever she can. As I was thinking my boss came in and asked if I could help him with something very important. He asked me if I had any good ideas for a great 25th anniversary for him to use this year. I told him about the woman who flies her own planes and how she does it for a living for special events. He thanked me up and down for the idea I gave him and was sure he was going to make his wife happy this year.

Getting A Passport Change-Of-Address

29 June 2010

We all know that if you travel a lot, you need to have a current passport. It’s also common knowledge that you need to renew a passport when it expires. However, what some people dont know is that if your home address changes, even if all other details are current, you need to file a passport address change. Not to worry though, as updating your passport address isn’t at all difficult. You can file a change of address application online through government websites. You can also do this over the phone, through mail, or by dropping by a post office that offers passport services. You can also do it the traditional way and visit the local passport office. For more information about updating your address on your passport, you can visit the Identity and Passport Service website.

Picture perfect in the winter

27 June 2010

As soon as we arrived we went a picked up the car from car rentals queenstown and then headed through the gorge to the town of Cromwell to see some old friends. It is such a nice area, especially during the winter when there is snow all over the mountains. The gorge road is a bit dicey in the icy conditions but we had a four wheel drive so it wasn’t too bad. We spent the day with our friends and then headed back to Queenstown to our hotel which was awesome. We could sit in the hot tub and look out over the lake which was just beautiful.
