Exploring the Different Kinds of Detox Diets

Separate from ordinary dieting by being more extreme measures, detox diet plans are only used for brief periods of time. The intention is to use this time to cleanse the body thoroughly of all toxins, so that a fresh start with a newer, healthier overall lifestyle can be achieved. You shouldn’t confuse detox diets with long term dieting plans, nor should you try to undergo such a diet without knowing what’s right for you. There are many kinds of detox diets, and in this series we’ll talk about the most important kinds.

The most extreme form of detox diet is the water-only diet. True to its name, its practitioners must avoid any food or drink other than pure water for the duration. While potent, this diet should be used with great care, and is generally unsuited for those who can’t temporarily pause physically active lifestyles.

In many cases, the water diet isn’t the best choice, despite its effectiveness. That’s when you turn to some of the other diets that we’ll describe further on in parts two, three, and four.
