Magic Cards Mathematics
I teach junior high math at an all boys school, and I have this amazing idea for a new lesson. I actually got it from my son, who one night was trying to explain to me how his magic cards work. As I listened to him, I began to realize that magic isn’t just a game, but a game of logic, mathematics, reasoning and common sense. Since those skills are things that I strive to teach my students, I think that I’m going to start writing a series of lessons revolving around the game. If I can make it work, I know I’ll have the rapt attention of every eight grade boy in that classroom.
