Cell phone Jammers

Cell phone jammers were first introduced to stop the remote detonation of explosive devices by terrorist planning to injure and kill members of the public or high profile targets.  Terrorist were rigging the bombs to trigger when they called them from another phone.  This was very easy to do as they simply used the current from the ring tone speaker to activate the explosive device.

When cell phone jammers appeared they were used to prevent any cell communications within their range.  Cell phone jammers were attached to presidential and diplomatic convoys and they were used in locations that speeches were to be conducted.  That way if any explosive device planted beforehand with the intention of triggering it with a cell phone, the jammers would render it useless as there would be no way to transmit to the cell phone used as the detonator.  This ensured the safety of those within the cell phone jammers range.
