Earlier this month on the other side of the pond, the world’s most famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, saw his shadow and scurried back underground signifying six more weeks of winter. It may be old folklore, but in the UK it seems inevitable that there will be at least another six weeks, if not longer, of winter in store. Depressing as it is, there is a cure – planning a sunny escape. With so many cheap holidays to Turkey being advertised at the moment, it would be silly not to. The country has gorgeous sandy beaches, crisp blue waters and plenty of things to keep holidaymakers busy.
